Below are the criteria and requirements for membership.

To apply, email your CV, letter of support from current PRS Member, and 3 publications with acknowledgement to the type of membership you are applying for to info@psychiatricresearchsociety.org.

Full Membership – In order to obtain Full Membership in the Society, persons nominated for membership will be reviewed with respect to their independence as investigators, their productivity, original contributions they have made to the field, their record of independent grant support, and the caliber of their current scientific thinking.  In the case of more senior persons nominated for membership, their record of training young investigators will also be evaluated. Please note that in order to qualify for membership, the nominee must have previously given a talk at the PRS Annual Meeting or must be scheduled to give a talk at the 2026 meeting.  Items that must be submitted for consideration:

1.     Curriculum Vitae
2.     Letter of support from current members of the society
3.     Three representative publications of their research endeavors. 
4.     Submit an abstract and intent to participate in the next Annual Meeting (or previously participated as a speaker).
Annual dues for full members are $100.00.  

Associate Membership – To obtain Associate Membership in the Society, nominees will be reviewed with respect to their potential as an investigator to achieve independence.  This is based on original contributions they have made to the field, their record of grant support, and the caliber of their current scientific thinking. Letters of support from current members of the society are of particular importance. Please note that in order to qualify for membership, the nominee must have previously given a talk at the PRS Annual Meeting or must be scheduled to give a talk at the 2026 meeting. Items that must be submitted for consideration:

1.     Curriculum Vitae
2.     Letter of support from current members of the society
3.     Three representative publications of their research endeavors.
4.      Submit an abstract and intent to participate in the next Annual Meeting (or previously participated as a speaker).
Annual dues for associate members are $50.00.
